UPDATE: After nearly five months on the market, someone has scooped up Joan Rivers's $28 million penthouse listing, the New York Post reports. Although the deal hasn't entered a contract, the rest of the late comedian's belongings (an eclectic mix of over-the-top art and home furnishings) were moved out last week.
PREVIOUSLY: As a co-host on "Fashion Police," Rivers was known for her biting commentary on red carpet styles and fashion in general, so it's no surprise her personal apartment reflected her penchant for glamour. The late comedian's Upper East Side condo is full of opulent details, including gold plated walls, sumptuous fabrics, and several gorgeous chandeliers.
The triplex, in which the comedy legend lived for years, is located in what was originally a single-family mansion built in the Gilded Age and sits just off Fifth Avenue, according to Corcoran. There are 11 rooms in the 5,100 square foot penthouse, including four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, two kitchens, a library, music room and ballroom. There are also five fireplaces throughout the residence and two terraces with views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.
